Teenagers – Start Your Learning Now

The education system is not what it used to be.  Kids are not taught the skills they really need in the real world.  What is severely lacking is some solid (or any really) teaching of basic financial literacy.  It’s an absolute tragedy when you think that kids are taught the basic skills of how to be a good worker for someone else, for the rest of their lives. What they should be taught is how to balance their personal finances, how to take control of them, and to build wealth for them and their family.

Schools were not designed to provide a quality education for children, they were a basic child minding service from the agrarian age while their parents work in the fields.  Kids know it, and their parents do too – if they say they don’t, they have just forgotten.  The basic skills that kids need to prosper in today’s society can be taught – it’s just not taught in schools.  Most parents will not have the time to teach their kids how to do this, so it may be up to the teenagers themselves to find the information and take control of their financial future.

There are real online jobs for teenagers – ones they can do on their own time, and that works around other important social functions and responsibilities.  Personally I would recommend that teenagers learn all they can about investing, financial markets and how money works.  The best opportunity to start investing is to buy penny stocks – and a teenager who is interested in financial markets and making money may well buy penny stocks as the first step in their investing journey.

If you’re a teenager who is reading this, start teaching yourself about how money works and more importantly, how to make it.  And if you’re a parent reading this, help your kids out by facilitating their financial learning. Who knows, you may learn a little something yourself in the process.
